At the beginning of this month, I made you -- my loyal Foray readers -- a promise (see below): "Read the Foray, and you'll know things first."
(If you've forgetton, and have lots of spare time on your hands, see http://greglindsey.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/08/foray-readers-know-it-first.html.)
In keeping with my promise, I now present "Promise Kept #2" (counting my original Aug 2 post):
Ahem ...
The Community Worship Service originally scheduled for the last Sunday of this month, Aug 31, at Middle Valley Church of God, has been postponed due to the Labor Day weekend.
Once again, because you choose to read the Foray, you now know a piece of news before others do.
Foray readers know it NOW; non-Foray readers know it LATER.
"True enough, Greg. But this 'piece of news' you're sharing here, that we now know first ... well, not to be too blunt, but it's a bit anti-climactic."
Come, come now! Surely you don't mean that! Because, don't you remember? You were ALL coming to the Community Service at the end of this month, right? Coming to support your pastor who was scheduled to speak, right?
See the value now?
I will, of course, look for you in November, when the next Community Service is scheduled. And, being the sort of pastor that I am, I'll also look for you at MVBC every Sunday UNTIL AND BEYOND November -- barring illness, death, or some other providential hindrance.
See?
Keeping my promises, keeping my readers ...
Greg
PS Have a great day, everybody!
PPS Notice that I've even created a new category for these posts called, "Promises Kept." This means MORE news that you will know first is on the way! Keep watching!
